Entrevista aos Oso Leone

On november 4th, we had the opportunity to talk a bit with Oso Leone. We spoke about the origin of their name, favourite albuns and about the experience of oppening concerts. Read the interview, below.

No passado dia 4 de novembro, tivemos a oportunidade de estar um pouco à conversa com os Oso Leone. Falámos da origem do nome, de álbuns preferidos e da experiência de abrir concertos. Fica a entrevista abaixo.


Watch and Listen: Why the name Oso Leone?

Oso Leone: We don't know. It started like kind of automatic writing and then Oso Leone appeared. I think the name you know, it's something that it grows while you use it more and more. And I think it is something more connect with the idea and the concept of the band

Watch And Listen: Porquê o nome Oso Leone?

Oso Leone: Não sabemos. Começou como se estívessemos em escrita automática e o nome Oso Leone apareceu. Acho que o nome que tu conheces, é algo que cresce à medida que o usas. Acho que é algo que tem mais a ver com a ideia e o conceito da banda.

W&L: What are the differences between your first and your second album?

OL: The only difference it's that the first album had a different concept. We made it with other producer because the others were working with other bands. It started like different, because for us each album is a different project. In this album we started to think about music, more and more. And about some concepts that interest us. It's so difficult to find different projects. Perhaps the next album will be totally diferent.


W&L: Quais as diferenças entre o primeiro e o segundo álbum?

OL: A única diferença é que no primeiro álbum tinhamos um conceito diferente. Fizemos o primeiro álbum com outro produtor, porque os outros estavam a trabalhar com outras bandas. Começou de modo diferente, porque para nós cada álbum é um projecto diferente. Neste álbum começámos a pensar mais na música. E acerca de alguns conceitos que nos interessam. É difícil encontrar novos projectos. Talvez o próximo álbum irá ser totalmente diferente.

W&L: How it was playing at Paredes de Coura, this year?

OL: Well it was really good. The place was magic. It's kind of natural amphitheatre. And there's people everywhere, nice people, very connected with music, really young. And usually it's hard to find feedback in this kind of festivals but it was really good.

W&L: Como foi tocar no Paredes de Coura deste ano?

OL: Bem foi muito bom. O sítio é mágico. É como se fosse um anfiteatro natural. E há pessoas em todo o lado, pessoas simpáticas, muito conectadas com a música, e muito jovens. Normalmente é difícil ter feedback neste tipo de festivais, mas este foi mesmo muito bom.

W&L:What is your favourite thing about Portugal?

OL: We've been here two times. This is the second time. I think there will be the third. Lisboa and Porto are really nice, I don't know each one we prefer. We like them both, they're really elegant.

W&L: Qual foi a vossa coisa preferida de Portugal?

OL: Nós já estivemos aqui duas vezes. Esta é a segunda. Acho que vai haver uma próxima. Lisboa e o Porto são cidades muito bonitas, não sabemos qual preferimos. Gostamos das duas, são muito elegantes.

W&L: If you could be and album which one would you be?

OL: It changes a lot. Sometimes you are really obsessed with one and then you change. But I'd say Talk Talk - Laughing Stock

W&L: Se pudessem ser um álbum qual seriam?

OL: Muda muito. Às vezes estás muito viciada num, e depois mudas. Mas diria o Laughing Stock dos Talk Talk.

W&L: How it is opening for Placebo?

OL: I think it is an interesting experience for us. We'll see how it will work for us and the public. I'm not kind of connect with this thing of oppening shows, but it's sort of funny. And there's a lot of people that don't know you and it's an opportunity to gather fans.

W&L: Como é abrir para os Placebo?

OL: Acho qaue é uma experiência bastante interessante para nós. Vamos ver como funciona para nós e para o público. Não estou particularmente familiarizado com isto de abrir concertos, mas é engraçado. E existe muita gente que não nos conhece e sempre é uma oportunidade de ganhar fãs.
